This Bordeaux-style blend – Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec in carefully judged proportions – represents the first formal expression of the Talangi philosophy. Only six barrels were deemed worthy of initial selection. Only one, Barrel VI, met the full standard of the Maison. The wine is hand-numbered and presented as a limited release of just 252 bottles – a statement of intent to the collectors, clients and institutions who will accompany Talangi over the coming decades.
Appearance: Deep ruby with a garnet rim. Nose: Blackcurrant, plum and black cherry layered with violet, graphite, cedar and dark cocoa. Palate: Concentrated yet poised, with fine-grained tannins, a core of dark fruit and savoury complexity building towards a long, tapered finish Ageing: Structured for cellaring; drinking now with decanting, but built to evolve over 10–15 years.
Prime cuts of beef, venison, slow-cooked lamb, truffled dishes and aged hard cheeses. This is a wine for lingering dinners and serious conversations.
